His face grew tighter and tighter with the effort of pent-up laughter, and he could not hold back when she realized her error. A loud guffaw escaped him, and his head tilted back with the belly laughter. When he was finished, he looked back down at her, his face smiling brightly "Miss Biladeau, you are by far the most interesting person I have ever met. And considering my parents owned a popular seafood restaurant, that's saying something." He let out a few more chuckles, shaking his head. "The kind of trip I'm talking about involves the two of us rising above the tree level and and flying toward the mansion." He offered her his arm, as before. "You may want to hold on."

"Okay. If you drop me, I swear, you'll wake up tomorrow morning surrounded by rabid kittens." Mai stared at his arm like a complete idiot, "So I grab your arm and just dangle from it as you fling through the air like Superman?" She awkwardly looped her arm through his, but somehow managed to do it in a firm way. "Oh geez." A random image of him accidently smacking her into the trees below couldn't be repressed. "How high above the trees, do you think? And have you ever had a bug fly up your nose while you were flying? Or have you had a bird dive bomb into the back of your head? If so, what kind of bird, and how badly did it hurt?"

He held her arm firmly in his left, patting it reassuringly with his right hand. "You worry too much, Miss Biladeau. You also should have a little more faith." As he finished speaking, their feet lifted from the ground, and he let them hover for a minute, to let her get used to the feeling. He gave her a warm smile, his next words emerging as if he were swearing an oath, quiet, but with power and feeling. "I will not drop you." Then they began to slowly rise some more, the ground steadily leaving them. He brought them to a halt once more when they were a few feet above the level of the roofs, allowing her an unusual view of the school grounds.

"Holy crap, this is weird- but in a good way." She blinked, looking down from above was so.. Different. Instead of thinking about how much it would hurt to fall from this height, she was transfixed with astonishment, curiosity, and awe. "You know, you don't have to be so formal when addressing me. Just call me Mai." She said slowly, eyes focused on the grounds below. She stifled a laugh as she saw a bird fly directly into a tree. That laugh could not be stifled for long, and escaped as a snicker. Mai was confident at this point that she was not going to be dropped, but her grip did not loosen one bit.

"All right," he said, looking around to get his bearings. He could see the mansion just over the tops of the trees that spread out from the school grounds, but he raised them higher anyways. Almost the entire campus could be seen from their height, almost a hundred and fifty feet above the ground. He gave her a few moments, in case she wanted to object, then asked her, "Are you okay with moving forward?"

"You smell good. Er. Yeah, I'm alright with moving forward. I'm completely comfortable with being held one-hundred-fifty feet in the air by a guy I've only known for a few hours." Mai grinned. The sad part was, what she said was completely serious. There was no sarcasm whatsoever. It was noticeably a little bit more windy up here than it was down on the ground, but not windy enough to cause her to freak out. "Don't worry about scaring me. Trust me, you'll know if I get terrified." She was so, so glad that her hair was in a ponytail, otherwise it'd be whipping her in the face, threatening to jump down her throat and suffocate her.

Jarus withstood her barrage of dialogue with a stoic smile, attributing it to nerves. Then again, she did seem to like talking, nervous or not. And she seemed to be missing her brain-to-mouth filter. He grinned at that thought, and they started to move forward, increasing in speed until they were going at a good ten mile-an-hour clip. When he spoke to her, he had to raise his voice a bit so that she could hear him above the sound of the moving air. "When we speak to the headmaster, I should probably do most of the talking, since I know him better. But I will need you to tell him what it was that you saw, so you should probably collect your thoughts as to how you're going to explain it to him. Okay?"

She sighed, but simply nodded in response. Mai opened her mouth to speak, but closed it- biting her lip. Collect her thoughts? Which thoughts?!? There were so many. If left to her devices to think, bad things happen. Things like getting stuck in mailboxes. If she rambled and spoke what was on her mind, it was often easier for her to keep from doing something stupid. Of course, there were multiple reasons why she simply would not like to think, but she focused on what she would tell the headmaster. 'Oh yeah, by the way, I just got a vision that students are disappearing. Now I'm gonna go poke around and see what's going on.' That seemed like plenty, right? No... There'd have to be more than just poking around; what if they found nothing? Should they cut off that hallway? But how could she tell which hallway it was? "RAWR, THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME, HERE!" She exclaimed, seconds later realizing that she had blurted her thoughts out loud. No wait- she was wrong, there could be something else in that hallway- a certain painting... Ah, come to think of it, there was. "Nevermind."

"You okay, Mai?" Jarus asked her, slightly concerned. His new friend was more than a little strange, but he needed her help. Besides, strange was better than normal. Normal was bland. And she had a lot of fun qualities, so the strange ones didn't get too bad. "We're almost to the mansion, but we can set down if you need a moment."

"No, it's not necessary. It's not /that/ windy, and since we're moving, well- the wind is more natural, right?" Mai replied, "I'm perfectly fine. Just collecting my thoughts, just like you suggested." Her voice was a little quiet, barely audible over the rushing noise of the wind. It was true- her mind was racing, she was remembering the vision over and over, each time, it'd grow to become more vivid, clearer- somehow, less fuzzy. There was still something very opaque about it... It was so difficult to understand, to get little details- an anomaly for her.

He merely nodded in reply, not wanting to disturb her. They had passed beyond the borders of the campus, and were now flying over groves of trees that were occasionally interrupted by a winding road. The mansion grew as they drew closer to it, and Jarus caused the two of them to slowly descend, until they finally landed in the mansion's courtyard. "We're here," he said softly, then added "in case you hadn't noticed" with a smirk.
