Power(s): Magic dust, she can control magic particles around her using her cute little staff. She can control the magical particles to a certain extent without her staff, but this is seriously energy draining. When controlling the matter she can bind others, create magical rings that encircle her and defend her, she can send an obscuring fog all around, and she can send burning energy blasts (this takes a higher amount of energy)

Likes: Wide open plains and spaces in nature, getting better at manipulating magic without using her staff, volleyball, cheerleading, being treated as an equal, Hitomi (her cat)

Dislikes: Being picked on for her small size, not having her staff with her, being in areas with little magic, basketball, not being with Hitomi when she could be

How you got into this school: Skipped 3 grades, got in with great marks.

History: Kasumi has always lived a very simple life. Her parents are quiet and keep to themselves, but they are strict and their maids and servants keep her in line more than they do. They are a family with a high income and a large house, seeing that her parents are very successful magicians as well. But Kasumi's cat Hitomi keeps her plenty of company, an affectionate Japanese Curl, with markings like a calico who has bright blue eyes. She's always by Kasumi's side whenever able and comes with her eveywhere (except classes). She isn't really phased by now being at a boarding school, she sees her parents as often as she ever has, and her cat, too. As much as Hitomi loves her, she can be independent if she needs to.
Hitomi:

Magical Weapon: Her staff just about comes up to the middle of her thigh when standing. It is golden with a frame of a heart on the top. In the middle of the heart is a large purple crystal that is her main power source when controlling magical particles. The golden frame wraps inside, beyond the heart's outer rim and extends to frame the purple crystal. In the spaces between inside the heart, large, protruding pink crystals fill it in. There is an area in the center of the staff's hadle where she can grip it, It's pink with purple accents and is shaped something like an apple core. The staff is always sparkling and radiant with energy, but this dims when there are fewer particles around to manipulate.

Name: Atonami Nakamura (Ice princess)

Power: Miss Nakamura has been granted the ability to manipulate the cold solid, ice. She needs water in order to create the crystals. But with the touch of her hand she can make any room a bitter chill. For safety, don't get her angry on a rainy day. Although, her stares can create the same chill. Mentally of course.

Likes: Cheer leading. Tennis. Swimming. Magic using sports. Being better then everyone else. Keeping clean. Her long golden hair. Ice cream. Rich boys. Gentlemen. SOME children. Shopping. Spending Money.

Dislikes: Being Dirty. The basketball team. Not getting what she wants. Being second best. Losing to a younger student. Thunder storms. Fire. Kanna Reharu.

How you got into this school: Well, seeing that her father is the Headmaster. She was easily accepted. Even though she was let into the school, it doesn't mean 'work' wasn't a main factor. Her mother has been strict on her from the first day she started schooling. In fact, from grade 1-8 she never REALLY had a friend. Only the maids that would take her outside and practice Tennis with her. Or her sister that would come home and play dolls.

History: Hidden from the world as a child, she was brain washed to think that SHE was the best. Her mother kept her working endlessly. From sports to studying, and no time for play. Her father was off running the school. Mother, in and out of the country for trading deals. Atonami was left with her older sister Yumi. By the time Yumi left and found a place of her own. Atonami was in her first year of High school. Being that she was the Headmasters daughter, people learned to respect her unfair authority over them. Most think that the power went to her pretty little head. My words for you are "Ya' think!?"

Magical Weapon: A silver ring, with a light blue rock lives on the middle finger of her right hand. It boasts her ability to create strong attacks without using too much of her energy.

Extra: First impressions can be a drag, and trust me she doesn't do well with them. However she DOES have a heart under that frosty cold breath.

Name : Jarus Gal'sen

Age: 26

Gender: male

Grade or profession : Teacher; specializes in Alchemy and the making of potions, as well as Combat Casting, the integration of one's powers into close-quarters combat.

Power : While Alchemy has been Jarus's intellectual pursuit, his real powers lie in a different portion of his mind: Jarus is a proficient telekinetic. He is capable of lifting multiple vehicles at once from the ground, and he can use his powers for flight as well.

How you got into this school: Jarus applied to Renton High when he heard that they had lost their previous alchemic instructor. He was the second to apply, but his years of experience and honored degree made him the choice despite being younger than the other applicants.

History: Jarus grew up in a family of cooks and chefs. His father was a sous chef under the famous Elonia de LaRont, and his mother and aunt ran a family-owned seafood restaurant called Sole Food. As he grew up, his sister took to the family trade right away. Jarus enjoyed it, too, but he found himself mixing ingredients that were generally not supposed to mix. One of his random creations turned out to be a potion of jump, which the family found out when he took out the chandelier in his fit of joy. He was sent to the Shoi'nai Alchemist Academy the next year, and despite his differing choice, his parents couldn't be prouder. He discovered his powers during his third year, and he spent the summer secretly developing them. But when his powers helped him prevent an accidental alchemical explosion, he decided to stop hiding them, and they have been a great asset to his alchemical studies.

Magical Weapon: Jarus carries a sword named Ujere, a habit gleaned from the year he spent in Grinala during his fourth year at the Academy. It is completely dull, with no blade to the edge of it, because it is enchanted to be unbreakable, thus making it impossible to sharpen, much less shatter. He has developed his own combat style that utilizes a combination of his telekinesis and the dull sword to render his opponents unable to fight without killing them.

Extra: Though family heritage gives him a dark appearance, Jarus is a very friendly person. He is quite patient, and it takes quite a bit to rile him up enough to make him angry.

Power(s) : Træl manipulates æther, the energy of magic. He can focus it into beams, weave it into binding cords and strands, or solidify it into shields and barriers, amongst other things.

How you got into this school: His parents, being of the upper echelon within the elf society, obtained him a place within this school using their social and political influence.

History: Træl, while intelligent, was not always fond of school. He enjoyed roaming the woods and plains communing with the ents and dryads. But as a member of one of the few High Elf families, it would not do for Træl to be uneducated, so his parents sent him to Renton High, a most acclaimed school for the gifted. And not wishing to be a burden or blight upon his family, Træl went, wishing merely to do as much as is needed in order to please his family. Having grown up as part of a noble family, Træl is used to considering himself to be above others, if not necessarily superior. But he has a kind heart, and readily admits his mistakes.

Magical Weapon: Træl wears a bright mythril necklace which holds a bright green jewel through which he can focus his energies, whether it be to manipulate stronger flows of æther, or to use as the center around which he creates ætherweapons, what he likes to call blædes.

Extra: Having lived amongst the beauty of elves all his life, Træl does not realize how pure his appearance is compared to humans, and he can often be seen observing a single person for extended periods of time.

How you got into this school: After being home schooled by her mother for several years, Midori decided that it was time to actually make some friends. With her amazing grades, and working through summers, she was able to get into the school a grade or two ahead of her age group.

History: Midori isn't exactly a "normal" type of girl. She's very moody, almost bipolar like without the crazy, and when she was little whenever she became upset her shadow manipulations would erratically create things that were potentially dangerous, or whip out and actually hurt someone. This was why her mother decided home schooling was the best option. After about four or five years of constant schooling, Midori had learned to control her most powerful emotions for her benefit, and enrolled in the school.
She never talks of her family outside of her mother.

Magical Weapon:
- The black ribbon around her neck easily comes off, and when shadow is manipulated around it can be turned into a small, thin whip.
- Her black nails are technically solidified shadows which she can manipulate at will. [But shhh, it's a secret. ;o ]

- Gets distracted by things easily. [Ex: You'll be in a deep conversation with her and a butterfly will pass by. How you got into this school: Umeka wasn’t ever the best student, especially when she always attempted to make things more interesting. However, she did extremely well with her grades without any assistance ever since she was young. Her father seeing her rapid improvement insisted she were to apply for a wealthy school, although Umeka didn’t wish to be in such a school or listen to what her father desired she applied anyways. Mostly because she figured this would be the most intriguing place to cause mischief and escape her father’s wrath.

History: As a young child, Umeka and her brother had always been partners in creating different sorts of trouble. They were always closest to their mother because she always understood their ways and never mistreated them. However, their father was much the opposite and whenever he was infuriated he’d abuse their mother. It was said their mother had fallen ill one morning with fatal cancer and they had done everything to save her. Nevertheless, Umeka’s brother refused to believe that and the day after their mother’s death he had ran away at age thirteen. Umeka had pleaded him to stay and rejected his offer for her to follow, since she was only ten. Since those days, Umeka has become strongly independent and barely lets anyone into her world. Nonetheless, ever since she applied for Renton much of her past has finally been evaporating her thoughts as she continues to ignore them.

Magical Weapon: Her necklace contains a gem within it’s star-shaped pendent. It beholds a strange ability that other magic users don’t contain, however, to Umeka it’s just a precious item her mother gave her. There’s more to this necklace that Umeka doesn’t know about either. Even so, she beholds this necklace as if it contains her heart and soul, anyone who dare try to even touch it had better think twice.

Extra:
-An element she’s weak against would be ice unless using their own element against them. Her worst is electricity, mainly because she cannot reverse their attacks or use them to her aid.
-Umeka is also, extremely afraid of loud thunderous sounds.
-Although she’s been training with her water for years, she has yet to master it all of the powerful movements of it.

How you got into this school: His parents are good friends with the Nakamura family. They met awhile back when both Atonami and him were in elementary together. He isn't the smartest student around, but bribery works when your face is flawless, and have the charm of a sweet smelling rose.

History: As a boy growing up he remembered seeing Atonami once a year. He had friends, and girls that looked similar to her. However driving up to her house was like driving into a castle. He always felt like her knight and shinning armor, even if HE was the one being protected by her. He crushed on her for as long as he knew her. Being stubborn, and a flirt, he would never admit to it. High school rolled around, and he wasn't there last year. He was out in England helping his parents nurse her mother back to help. A bit frustrated that he couldn't see Atonami's first year, he got on the next flight over and signed up for school. Now he could pick on her all he wanted.

Name:Maiko Marie Biladeau-Yukawa

Gender: Female

Subject: Non-Magical Combat Professor

Teaching style: She is not a teacher who shows favoritism. She teaches through demonstration and action- she expects everybody who takes her class to try their hardest, even if their hardest sucks. She may seem a little insane, pushing her students to their physical limit, but she always eases down on them when the time is right.

Grading style: She grades students individually, even if they work in groups. She feels that group grading is unfair, since often one or two students will do all the work in a group, while the others do nothing.

Appearance (written description): Maiko’s hair is dark brown, and extremely wavy, with a bit of curl to it. It is normally pulled back into a ponytail; so little kids don’t get a hold of her hair and play with the springy curls. Her complexion is of a tan, olive one, so her light green eyes are a bit of a shock, and stand out.

Her attire normally consists of something purple, with black fishnets, and a pouch for holding random items, like explosives or little knick-knacks. Her pants normally have a few pockets- hey; she has to have a place to put all those little random things that she has. She does not ever dress like a teacher- this might cause her to be confused as a student at times.

Mai has a short torso in proportion to the rest of her body, making her legs look longer. At 5’1.5” (5'2" if you round up), she is shorter than many, but does not seem to let that bug her. She looks very, very feminine, with a light bone structure and French muscle build. (The French muscle build is a lot like Italian’s) . Normally, she will weigh about 110 pounds... When her Lupus flares get a little intense, she does tend to lose more weight- but she gains it back after getting better. On her left ankle, she has a simple, black tattoo that is almost like a sun. On her back, multiple scars that are a shade lighter than the rest of her skin.

Power(s):

Maiko could be considered a seer. She has the unique ability to see the future, the present [in a different area], and the past. The future and present normally hit her at seemingly random times, but the past is normally seen when she touches certain items related to the past. Also, these can be seen in dreams.

This is not really a power, but Mai does have an Eidetic Memory. She has the ability to totally recall images, sounds, or objects in memory with an uncanny accuracy and sometimes in abundance. If she sees something once, she will most likely remember it- even if she is not consciously pulling the information in.

How you got into this school: While searching for a job, her younger brother told her of an opening at his school, and she decided to apply for it. After an interview, a display of her skills, and an application, Maiko was accepted as a professor.

History:
Mai grew up with a French mother(Melanie Biladeau) and Japanese father (Kazuo Yukawa) on a farm. Her mother was part of a rather rich family, while her father was almost dirt-poor. Because her mom married her father, her grandparents on her mom’s side barely contacted her. In fact, she was only vaguely aware that she had grandparents. However, her mom’s older brother, Auguste, visited often and he formed a supposed friendship with her dad. She started ballet and fencing training when she was three and that training continues even today. When she was about six years old, her parents broke up for a brief period of time. In that period of time, her father had a one-night stand with an Elvin woman and produced for Mai a younger half brother (Kohaku Yukawa) by the time she was seven.

Mai’s parents got back together despite of this, and Kohaku came over often for his mother was a schizophrenic and that worried Kazuo like crazy. When Mai was 11, her mom grew very ill- but Mai brushed it away, for she had periods of time where her Lupus grew out of hand and she always got better- but this time, it was worse than ever and it killed Melanie ten days before Mai’s 12th birthday. This tore Kazuo apart, and he slipped into a depression. Mai started losing her dad when her dad lost her mom, and he finally died two years later, when Mai was 14. Her Uncle Auguste became her legal guardian, and the farm went completely downhill. Her uncle sold animals and farm equipment for money for alcohol-andpossiblyillegaldrugs. Mai’s opinion about her uncle changed drastically- he was a mean drunk, abusive in multiple ways.

This drove Mai to go through books and she actually taught herself how to create bombs. She used these as a threat against her uncle, and he finally called his parents. The grandparents took Mai in when she was 16 and had her learn martial arts as a way to vent what they thought was ‘suppressed anger leaking out in horrible ways.’ Kohaku visited his sister often, trying to learn everything Mai knew, but Mai saw him as a nuisance and often pushed him away.

At seventeen, she graduated from 12th grade and went to college, studying to get a degree in education. During this time, she taught fencing and ballet and did waitressing at a local restaurant to earn money towards college. Although she had a scholarship, she still had to pay a lot of money. To keep her from having to take out student loans, her grandparents chipped in.

She got her BA in Education when she was 21, and her MA when she was 24. Immediately afterwards, she searched for a teaching job that might highlight some skills she had. She could easily teach English, but she did not really want to- she wanted a job unique to her that involved unusual students and staff. Her brother told her about a job opening for a Non-Magical Combat professor, and she applied and got in.

Magical Weapon: Maiko does not have any magical weapons; after all, the class she teaches does not involve any magic or powers whatsoever. She has a variety of weapons used for teaching, but the only ones she really has of her own are a rapier, various knives, and home-made little bombs. She does not usually carry her rapier around with her, but it is hard to see her without knives or bombs hidden somewhere on her person.

Extra:
-She loves ballet. Instead of this job, she nearly became a professional ballet instructor.
-She is extremely flexible
-She cannot cook anything, she sucks at anything involving potions or growing plants.
-She enjoys sewing, but hates embroidery
-She knows how to deal with wounds, but because she doesn’t really have the magical ability to heal others, the healing is of course, basic and not anything special.

How you got into this school: He applied to a number of schools, and went to about five different schools his first year, often getting kicked out for his lack of control over his gift with plants and earth. He got accepted into this school and learned to control the earth powers. He has difficulty with sand and lava still, but he is much better than he used to be. Currently, he is trying to control his powers over plants.

History:
Kohaku was a bastard child, born to a schizophrenic elven woman and a Japanese farmer. His mother had always been crazy—but things got better when she married a psychiatrist. He used to idolize his older sister, but he hated being rejected by her when she wanted to be alone. He has four siblings- all of whom are half siblings. Maiko is his sister from his dad’s side of the family, his younger half siblings from his mother are ten, eight, five and two years old. With a schizophrenic mom, he learned to watch the kids when his mother was having a particularly bad day so that they would not get hurt. His mom also had an eccentric personality, so he learned to be patient with people yelling, screaming, and sounding mean without a mean intent. His biological dad died when he was young, and most of his memories of his dad are of him being ill. However, there are a few fond memories he keeps dear to his heart.

He has been playing soccer since he was five years old, and discovered his unique powers when he was thirteen. His mother and stepfather were quite excited about his gift, and they hope that perhaps their children together will have gifts as well.

Magical Weapon: None

Extra:
-Kohaku is about 6’2 in height, over a full foot taller than his sister.
-To humans he looks more like an elf, but to elves he looks more human. This is quite common with half-elves.
-He has amazing stamina due to years of soccer.
-Kohaku has no cooking abilities whatsoever.
-Although he is good at cleaning, he can never make beds. Whenever he tries to make a bed, it turns out deformed.
-His favorite fruit is a lychee.

How you got into this school: Raiko was never the best with having a social life, but then again never really studied a ton either. Although he did study occasionally for tests mostly out of boredom and not having much else to do. Nonetheless, Raiko always had good grades which would be his reason for making it into this school.

History: To put Raiko's past simply, as a child he originally had a nice, simple life with a caring mother not to mention a good role-model of a bother. As a side note, his brother was actually his twin, Ryou. As for his father, he was always watching out for Raiko and making sure that he never got left out in anything. He basically had a good life up until the age of four, when his father started beating his mother for reasons unknown to him. Out of stress, his mother actually started beating Raiko himself which only caused more family problems. Once his mother actually almost killed him, and in revenge of that his father literally killed his mother. And what did that lead to? Ryou killing his father in revenge of his mother. After that his brother Ryou left completely before the police could come to check out the scene and Raiko was eventually sent off with foster parents and so on. After that big scene, Raiko was basically scarred for life. His twin who he shared not only his appearance but powers as well with killed his mother, who was killed by his father... And even after that big night, more mental scars came as well. His foster parent mother tried raping him, so he immediately left that home after the incident only to find himself chased around by girls quite a few times that left him even more scarred. In the end he found himself with a very, very strong phobia of girls.

-Electricity can't do much about Earth/Wood/Other absorbers of electricity in battle.
-Despite training his element for so long now, Raiko has yet to be able to handle any powerful moves no matter how hard he tries.
